Title: European Bioeconomy Clusters‘ Alliance
Acronym: EBCA
Description:
The European Bioeconomy Clusters Alliance (EBCA) is a collaborative initiative that brings together leading national and regional bioeconomy clusters to accelerate the development of a sustainable, regenerative, and circular bioeconomy across Europe.
It was formally established in February 2025 by 14 founding members. EBCA fosters cross-sectoral collaboration to strengthen the European circular bioeconomy and support the sustainable use of land and sea resources.
The Alliance facilitates the transfer of knowledge between research, industry, and policy, helping to bridge the gap between innovation and implementation. The aim is to enable easier access to funding opportunities, promote project development at both regional and European levels, and empower local ecosystems to thrive through shared learning and strategic cooperation.
The founding members of EBCA are:
- Bioeconomy Cluster (Slovakia)
- Bioeconomy4Change (France)
- Cluster of Bioeconomy and Environment of Western Macedonia - CluBE (Greece),
- Cluster Industrial Biotechnology (Germany)
- Corporación Tecnológica de Andalucía (Spain)
- Food & Bio Cluster (Denmark)
- Greek Bioeconomy Council (Greece)
- Flanders’ FOOD (Belgium)
- Irish Bioeconomy Foundation (Ireland)
- P-BIO (Portugal)
- Spring (Italy)
- Wagralim (Belgium)
- World Bioeconomy Association (Finland)
- Food+i (Spain)
The Alliance is open for other bioeconomy clusters to join, if certain conditions are met.
